These handpicked Merlot, 80% and 10% of each Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes are the result of 2007/08 long, hot summer ripening the grapes to a rare intensity. The resulting aromas are mandevilla, blackcurrant, watermelon, strawberry with a hint of cinnamon on the finish. This very pleasant Rose is a wonderful accompaniment to a light summr food.

pressing followed by 16 months oak maturation. The result
is a wine that is deep in colour, teeming with blackcurrants,

a wine with rich velvet tannins that are sure to linger

This blend combines the characteristics of Bordeaux and Rhone varietals, both of which excel on Waiheke Island, to prroduce a wine with aromas and texture. Classic "Cab" 40% aromas of cherry, cassis and cedar blend with the plum, anise and tea leaf contributed by the Syrah 60%. Full-bodied, the intense berry flavours, firm acidity and developed tannis linge into a toasty, mocha finish. Pairs well with Mediterranean cusine or rich desserts. This holy fire water of the grape is the subliminal digestive after a wonderful meal. It’s musky aroma gives hints of canned pears and golden apple skins. Certainly hot in the mouth but surprisingly smooth with a definite warming of the cockles of even the coldest of hearts!!
